Douglas County, WA – The Washington State Patrol has identified a operator killed in a Sunday afternoon head-on crash in Douglas County as 66-year-old Michael W. Meacham of Spokane.

The incident was reported at around 1:30 p.m. on February 9 on State Route 28 near Rock Island Dam Road.

Reportedly, a 17-year-old female, apparently moved from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane to pass a third vehicle before striking the Northwestern Stagelines charter bus head-on.

Meacham and two occupants of the Camry, both East Wenatchee 17-year-olds, were declared dead at the scene, while a passenger on the bus died later at Confluence Health Hospital.

No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.

An investigation is underway.
