Sherman Oaks, CA – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the wrong-way driver killed in a Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 405 in Sherman Oaks as 30-year-old Eduardo Membrano.

According to the CHP, the wreck happened at around 4:06 a.m. February 11 on the southbound 405 Freeway near the Valley Vista Boulevard exit.

Membrano was driving his vehicle north on the southbound lanes of the highway when it collided head-on with a second vehicle. The police said multiple other cars were involved in the mishap.

Membrano was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle he struck was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in critical condition.

One other person was evaluated at the scene but declined further medical treatment.

The crash is under investigation.
