South Pasadena, CA. – 20-year-old Andrew Gonzalez died when his vehicle crashed into a garage of a South Pasadena home shortly after police officers stopped chasing him, the county Medical Examiner's Office reported.
According to the South Pasadena Police Department, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 300 block of Orange Grove Avenue near Oliver Street.
Police officers were chasing the car, but ended the pursuit after less than a minute.
The man continued driving for almost one mile and crashed into a home's garage. The vehicle ended up overturned onto its hood.
Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said it was not an active pursuit that led to the crash.

South Pasadena, CA. – A 20-year-old Altadena man died after crashing his vehicle into a garage in a home in South Pasadena after a short police pursuit.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 5 a.m. near Orange Grove Avenue and Oliver Street.
South Pasadena police said they were chasing a 2020 Dodge Charger that was reported stolen in the city of Los Angeles on Sunday, but ended the pursuit in under a minute.
That vehicle continued driving for about a mile at alleged high speeds and ended up flipping and crashing into the garage of a home near the corner.
Firefighters responded and provided life-saving measures on the driver, but he died at the scene.
The driver's name was not released.
Investigators closed Orange Grove Avenue between 110 Freeway and Columbia Street following the crash.
