Father and Son Killed in DUI Collision on Highway 165 in Merced Identified
Merced County, CA. – Adrian Reyes, 41, and his 13-year-old son, Noah, died in a suspected DUI collision that happened early Saturday morning in Merced County.
20-year-old Melissa Rosales of Los Banos was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving following the accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Rosales was driving a 2016 Honda Accord northbound on Highway 165, and Rosales was driving a 2014 BMW SUV southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed.
Authorities said Rosales' SUV drifted into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with the Accord.
Reyes and his son Noah died in the crash.
Rosales was hospitalized with major injuries. She was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Merced County, CA. – A 41-year-old man from Ceres and a child died in a head-on collision involving a drunk driver that happened early Saturday morning in Merced County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 12:19 a.m. on Highway 165 south of Turner Avenue.
Investigators said 20-year-old Melissa Rosales of Los Banos was driving a 2014 BMW SUV southbound on Highway 165 at a high rate of speed, approaching a 2016 Honda Accord heading northbound on the highway occupied by the Ceres man and the juvenile.
Rosales failed to properly negotiate a curve on the road and crossed into the northbound lane, where she collided head-on with the Accord.
The Ceres man and the child were killed in the accident.
Rosales was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. Police officers said she was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. She was arrested for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
