Cerritos, CA. – 25-year-old Ruby Perez and 25-year-old Jabarri Adams died in a crash involving a box truck that happened Sunday morning on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Cerritos, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The accident was reported just after 6:35 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway west of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, around 6:35 a.m., a two-axle Ford box truck collided with a GMC Yukon SUV for an unknown reason.
The box truck was stopped in the No. 2 lane when, about a minute after the first crash, a Honda Accord rear-ended the truck.
Adams was driving the Honda and Perez was a passenger in the car. Both died from injuries they sustained in the accident. Their cities of residence were not mentioned.
Investigators shut down all eastbound lanes of 91 Freeway. Traffic was diverted to the I-605. All lanes were back open at 11:38 a.m.
