Kings County, CA. – Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Sunday morning in Avenal, according to the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident took place about 12:31 a.m. on northbound  Highway 41, just south of Highway 33.

A white sedan and a black sedan were involved in the accident.

Firefighters responded to the scene and found two male parties with major injuries.

An air ambulance and a ground ambulance were dispatched to the scene to transport the patients to the hospital. Both victims were taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia – one via life flight and the other via ground ambulance.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
