Madera, CA. – Two adults were killed early Monday morning when an unlicensed teen driver ran a stop sign and crashed into their vehicle in Madera.
Authorities said the collision occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue 16 and Road 23.
The teen, who was driving east on Avenue 16 without headlights, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with another vehicle occupied by two adults.
When officers arrived, they found the two adults trapped inside the wreckage.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released.
The teen driver was found by first responders standing outside his car. It was unclear if he was hurt.
Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
The crash remains under investigation by the Madera Police Department.
