Tulare County, CA – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that occurred on Road 236 in Tulare County on Friday night, the California Higwhay Patrol reported.

At around 9:45 p.m. July 17, authorities were called to the scene of a crash on Road 236, just south of Avenue 104.

The CHP reported that a 29-year-old Porterville man was driving a 2001 Ram 1500 northbound on Road 236 at a high rate of speed when he drifted across the double yellow lines.

The front of the Ram collided with the left front side of a 2004 Ford Fusion that was heading south on Road 236. The impact of the accident caused the Ram to overturn and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the Ram and the other motorist, identified as a 55-year-old woman form Terra Bella, were both declared deceased at the scene. Their names were not released in the CHP report.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
