Tucson, AZ.- The Tucson Police Department has identified a man who was killed in a collision on Tucson's south side on Sunday afternoon.
33-year-old Oscar Pedro Salazar, was the driver who died in the crash that occurred on South Sixth Avenue and East Michigan Drive at around 3 p.m. on December 7, 2025.
Police reported that Salazar was in a Hyundai Elantra stopped at a stop sign on eastbound Michigan Drive when he tried to make a turn onto South Sixth Avenue. The Elantra was hit by a northbound car that was reportedly traveling above the posted speed limit.
Salazar was killed in the accident.
According to Tucson police, speed is believed to be the major contributing factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
