Tucson, AZ – One person was severely injured in a collision involving multiple vehicles on Monday morning in Tucson, according to a report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The incident took place at around 11:30 a.m. July 13, on Interstate 10 near 22nd Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that several vehicles, including a commercial vehicle, collided in the westbound lanes of the interstate near milepost 259. It’s unclear what caused the vehicles to crash.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and attended to those involved in the incident.
One person was transported to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries. One other patient was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash caused the closure of the westbound lanes of I-10 for hours as authorities examined and cleared the scene. The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
