The crash occurred on the 2000 block of Pershing Drive at around 1:40 a.m. on December 28, 2025, when emergency services were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call from a passerby reporting the collision.

According to investigators, a motorcycle driven by a San Diego man was traveling on Pershing Drive when it collided with an SUV in the roadway. The circumstances leading up to the collision are under review by authorities.

The motorcyclist, Timothy Scott Lowman, 51, of San Diego, was injured in the crash and, despite life-saving measures provided by responding emergency personnel, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:59 a.m. The driver of the SUV was reported as injured, though the specific extent of those injuries has not been released.
