Thermal, CA – A man was killed following a vehicle versus motorcycle collision at an intersection in Thermal early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Pierce Street at approximately 6:03 a.m. on Tuesday.

Preliminary reports indicate the incident involved a Subaru sedan and a Honda motorcycle.

Investigators said a 29-year-old man was riding the motorcycle northbound when he collided with the southbound Subaru, operated by a 26-year-old man. Further investigation revealed that the Subaru turned left, coming directly into the path of the motorcycle, leading to the collision.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The sedan driver was not hurt. The name of the victim was not immediately released. No arrests have been reported in connection with the crash.

Emergency crews, including fire personnel, the coroner, and Riverside County Sheriff’s Office deputies, responded to the scene to assist and manage the situation.

The crash led to a closure in the area as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined. The incident remains under investigation.
