Oakland, CA. – One person was killed in a car crash involving multiple vehicles Sunday morning on Interstate 880 in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports revealed at around 5:34 a.m., the CHP was notified of a three-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 880 near south of Embarcadero.
Reportedly, the initial crash involved a white Tesla Model Y, a white Tesla Model 3 and a red Toyota Rav4.
After the initial wreck, a Freightliner Box truck rear-ended the Tesla Model Y.
The Tesla Model Y's driver was declared deceased at the scene.
CHP confirmed the driver of the Tesla Model 3 was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Officers determined the driver of the Freightliner was not to be under the influence following an evaluation.
No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.
An investigation is underway.
