Preliminary reports indicate that four vehicles were involved in the collision in the southbound lanes of the highway
Templeton, CA – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Templeton on Wednesday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol log.
The pile-up was reported at around 3:13 p.m. February 18, south of Vineyard Drive, as per the CHP.
Preliminary reports indicate that four vehicles were involved in the collision in the southbound lanes of the highway. Reasons as to why the vehicles collided were not yet established.
The vehicles came to a rest in the center divider and one of them was blocking the No. 2 lane on southbound Highway 101.
The CHP officers and emergency personnel arrived shortly after receiving calls of the crash and found multiple victims at the scene.
Six people were determined to have sustained minor injuries. It was unclear whether anyone was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
At least one southbound lane was temporarily shut down while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
The authorities have not released additional details on the incident and an investigation by the CHP to determine its cause is currently ongoing.
