Taft, CA – 3 Killed, 1 Seriously Hurt in Fiery Collision at Highway 119 and Harrison Street

Taft, CA – Three people died, and one other was airlifted to the hospital after a fiery collision that happened Saturday evening near Taft, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 7:41 p.m. on September 26, 2026, on Highway 119, just south of Harrison Street.

A red Ford Ranger and a silver or gray sedan collided, possibly head-on, and both caught fire. A third car may have also been involved in the accident.

Two people in the truck and one in the sedan died in the crash.

At least one other person was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 119 was closed at Harrison Street and Cedar Street for an extended period following the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
