Suzanne Thompson Killed in Mission Beach Collision on Mission Avenue
Mission Beach, California (November 2, 2022) – Suzanne Thompson, 59, of Henderson, Nevada, was among three people who died after a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Mission Beach, according to the authorities.
The wreck occurred in the 2900 block of Mission Avenue just after 3 p.m. on October 29.
Authorities said Andrew Small, 62, of San Diego, was driving a Ford SUV northbound on Mission Avenue at a high rate of speed when he slumped over and drifted into the southbound side.
The Ford collided head-on with an oncoming Kia SUV near the San Fernando Place.
Andrew was pronounced deceased at the scene while a passenger in the Ford, Mary Small, 70, of San Diego, was pronounced dead at Scripps Memorial Hospital.
Thompson was a passenger in the Kia. She was extricated by firefighters and also died at the scene of the accident.
Alcohol was not suspected to have played a role in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
