Santee, CA – The San Diego County Coroner's Office has identified a male bicyclist killed in a last week Monday morning crash in Santee as Steven Alan Collier, 69, of Lakeside.
The incident was reported at around 9:21 a.m. February 10 in the 11000 block of North Woodside Avenue.
Investigators said Collier was riding an electric bicycle southbound on the street when for unknown reasons, the bicycle struck the rear of a UPS truck parked on the shoulder of the road.
The driver of the UPS truck heard the impact from inside the truck and found the unresponsive decedent lying on the road to the rear of the vehicle.
Collier was rushed to the Sharp Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, where he died upon arrival.
More information about the mishap was not provided.
The cause of the incident is being investigated.
