Stephanie Zeisloft Identified as Woman Killed in Chico Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 99

According to investigators, officers with the California Highway Patrol Area Office were notified of a tan SUV traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of near Garden Brook Drive.

Authorities Identify Woman Killed in DUI Suspected Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 99 in Chico

Chico, CA. – 52-year-old Stephanie Zeisloft was killed in a wrong-way crash that happened Sunday evening in Chico, the Butte County Sheriff's Office reported.

The DUI-suspected accident occurred around 8 p.m. on northbound Highway 99.

According to investigators, officers with the California Highway Patrol Chico Area Office were notified of a tan SUV traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Garden Brook Drive.

While CHP officers were responding, they were informed that the vehicle had been involved in a head-on collision.

The CHP officers arrived at the scene and found a Lexus sedan that was traveling the wrong involved in a head-on collision with a Kia Forte.

Zeisloft of Smartsville in Yuba County was the driver of the Forte and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wrong-way driver of the Lexus, only identified as a 32-year-old man, was taken to Enloe Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Investigators said alcohol was a possible factor contributing to the accident.

CHP is investigating the collision.
