According to the Madera Police Department, the wreck took place on Highway 99 and Gateway Drive on Monday, October 27.
A van and a Honda were involved in the head-on crash.
The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.
The impact nearly sent the van down an embankment.
The occupants of both vehicles were transported to a hospital and were expected to recover.
