Santa Rosa, CA. — A Santa Rosa motorcycle officer was injured Tuesday evening after colliding with a vehicle while responding to a call for service, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. as the officer was riding north on Mendocino Avenue, just north of Steele Lane.
Police said the driver of a white Subaru Outback exited a parking lot in the 2200 block of Mendocino Avenue and attempted to cross into the southbound lanes.
Despite using emergency braking techniques, the officer struck the vehicle as it passed in front of him.
He sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital before being released.
The driver of the Subaru was not hurt.
The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating the collision.
