Santa Rosa, CA – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on southbound U.S. 101 near East Washington Street Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:20 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 at the East Washington Street off-ramp. Authorities said two vehicles, including a white Toyota RAV4 and a white Mazda, were involved in the crash.
CHP initially reported that a party was trapped inside a vehicle. Petaluma firefighters transported one person to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with a left leg and hip injury. Another person was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital with an injury to the right side of the face.
The incident caused lane restrictions as officers and emergency crews responded. Traffic was diverted at East Washington Street. The southbound lanes were fully reopened by approximately 6:45 a.m.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
