Santa Barbara County, CA – Two drivers were injured, one critically, after their vehicles collided head-on in Santa Barbara County on Sunday.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the wreck took place on Highway 166 on Sunday, April 19.

Authorities reported that two vehicles with the drivers as the sole occupants crashed head-on into each other. The events leading up to the collision were yet to be established.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the individuals involved in the collision.

After evaluation, one of the drivers was airlifted to Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The other driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center.

The identities of the involved motorists were not immediately released. Authorities have not confirmed whether impairment was a factor in the accident.
