San Jose, CA – A woman who was struck and seriously injured by a car last month near an intersection in San Jose has died, authorities reported.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 10:25 p.m. on July 18, 2026, near North Leigh Avenue and Patio Drive.

According to the San Jose Police Department, a man was driving a silver 2016 Toyota Camry northbound on Leigh Avenue, approaching Patio Drive, when he hit a woman walking in the roadway outside a marked crosswalk.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where she was stabilized. The woman later died from her injuries on August 2, the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner reported.
