According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Qingyu Liu, 90, was the victim of the accident that happened at around 1:15 p.m. April 18, in the 9000 block of Southview Road near Jackson Place
San Gabriel, CA – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Southview Road in the East San Gabriel area of Los Angeles County Saturday afternoon has been identified.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Qingyu Liu, 90, was the victim of the accident that happened at around 1:15 p.m. April 18, in the 9000 block of Southview Road near Jackson Place.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Liu was struck by a vehicle in the area. The circumstances under which Liu was hit were still unclear.
The CHP responded to the site of the accident and Liu was declared deceased at the scene. His city of residence was not specified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
No details on the involved driver were immediately provided and no arrests were announced following the collision.
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the deadly collision and additional details are expected to be released.
