San Francisco, CA – A man who was involved in a vehicle vs pedestrian collision early Tuesday morning in the SoMa area of San Francisco has succumbed to his injuries.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crash was reported at around 4:03 a.m. July 14, on Sixth Street near Tehama Street.
Initial reports indicate that a man was walking across the street when he was hit by a vehicle.
Police and the San Francisco Fire Department crews arrived at the scene within minutes and paramedics began performing CPR on the injured victim.
The victim was then rushed to a hospital and was later reported to have died at the hospital. Authorities reported that he was a 57-year-old but his identity is yet to be released.
The driver who hit the victim stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
According to SFPD, alcohol and/drugs were not believed to have played any role in the incident.
The San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is working to establish what led up to the deadly incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the department at 415-575-444.
