San Diego, CA- A woman was taken to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle near San Diego State University on Thursday evening.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place in the 6500 block of Montezuma Road at about 5:20 p.m. December 11.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 26-year-old woman was attempting to walk across Montezuma Road from the south side to the north when she was hit by an eastbound Honda Accord. The Honda was driven by a 28-year-old man, who was traveling in the far left lane.
The victim was hospitalized with several injuries including a head laceration, a fractured pelvis, a fractured femur, and a broken sacrum. The victim’s injuries were said to be major but not life-threatening.
The driver was unhurt and remained at the scene after the accident.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is conducting an investigation into the collision.
