San Diego, CA – A 70-year-old man died after he was hit by a vehicle early Monday morning in the North Park area of San Diego.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on September 28, 2026, on El Cajon Boulevard near 30th Street.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Mercedes E350 was traveling eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard with a 66-year-old man behind the wheel. At the same time, a 70-year-old man was standing on the south sidewalk.

Authorities said the pedestrian stepped into the street and was hit by the passing car.

The man was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
