San Diego, CA – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 15 Freeway in San Diego on Friday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The wreck occurred near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at about 2:10 p.m. August 21.
The report indicates that a dark-blue Lexus SUV, a silver SUV, a silver sedan, and a silver Toyota truck were involved in the accident. The vehicles crashed in the southbound lanes for undetermined reasons.
CHP and the San Diego Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and helped the involved parties.
A person trapped in one of the vehicles was extricated by firefighters.
Medics transported four people to the hospital for treatment. According to the report, two of the hospitalized patients had critical injuries.
Southbound 15 Freeway lanes were temporarily shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
The California Higwhay Patrol is handling an ongoing investigation into the collision.
