San Carlos, CA – One person died in a traffic collision involving a pedestrian that happened early Sunday morning in San Carlos, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 2:44 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of the Holly Street off-ramp.

CHP officers were notified about a pedestrian walking back and forth in traffic lanes, and moments later, a crash involving a pedestrian and two cars was reported in the area.

First responders found the pedestrian suffering from major injuries.

A white Dodge Challenger with moderate front-end damage and a gray Kia Telluride were also located near the scene.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident.

The exact manner of the crash was not immediately determined, but an investigation is ongoing.
