Marana, AZ – The Marana Police Department has identified 66-year-old Robert Penland as the pedestrian killed in a Saturday evening crash on North Thornydale Road in Marana.
The accident occurred at around 7:14 p.m. on March 8, on the southbound lanes of North Thornydale Road, just north of West Ina Road.
Penland was struck by a 2005 Lincoln Navigator in the area in unclear circumstances.
Penland was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Speed and impairment were not believed to be factors. No charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing.
