Fairfield, CA. – 63-year-old Robert McPherson died in a motorcycle accident that happened Wednesday evening near an intersection in Fairfield.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, the accident occurred around 8:05 p.m. just in front of a Circle K at a gas station near First and West Texas streets.

Police said McPherson was riding a motorcycle on West Texas Street passing the driveway of the Circle K when he got hit by a car attempting to turn left into the gas station.

The rider was ejected from the bike, sustaining severe injuries.

Responding emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

The 68-year-old man driving the car stopped and remained at the scene.

Police said impairment was not considered a contributing factor.
