Hunt County, TX. – Richard Nelson, 70, of Caddo Mills, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Hunt County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 66 and Farm-to-Market Road 1570.

Nelson was driving a Dodge Neon eastbound on SH 66 failed when he failed to control its speed and rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra.

The impact of the collision pushed the Elantra into a Volkswagen Jetta in front of it.

Nelson was transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
