Fresno, CA. – 36-year-old Richard Gomez died when he was struck by a semi-truck while riding a scooter near an intersection in Fresno.
According to the Fresno County Coroner's Office, the accident occurred around 7 a.m. near Gates Avenue and Blythe Avenue, not far from Highway 99.
Gomez was riding his mobility scooter in the area when he was run over by a semi-truck under circumstances still being investigated.
The driver of the truck stopped and stayed at the scene.
The Fresno Police Department responded to the scene and blocked the intersection for investigation.
