Redwood City, CA – Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 101 North in Redwood City early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on US-101 North just north of Marsh Road in Redwood City at about 12:10 a.m.

CHP incident records indicate a Chevrolet Astro van with major front-end damage collided with a Toyota Corolla, also with front-end damage. The Chevrolet was reportedly involved in the impact that required the extrication of both parties from the vehicles by fire personnel due to the severity of the crash.

Two people were seriously injured as a result of the collision. One driver was found unconscious, and the passenger was pinned inside the vehicle before being freed by fire crews. Both injured parties were transported to medical facilities. No arrests have been reported.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, but initial information noted vehicles blocking lanes and possible involvement of additional unidentified vehicles at the scene prior to the confirmed two-vehicle collision.
