Rebecca Arndt was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries
San Joaquin, CA. – Rebecca Arndt, 62, has been identified as the woman who died in a collision involving a suspected drunk driver on Thursday night in Manteca.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 99 north of Jack Tone Road.
A 35-year-old Manteca man was driving a GMC truck north on Highway 99 while under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into the rear of Arndt's Ford Escape.
The Manteca man then hit the left rear of a Freightliner tractor trailer combination operated by a 39-year-old Lathrop man also traveling north on Highway 99.
Arndt, a resident of Stockton, was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries, according to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
