Rancho Cucamonga, CA – A pedestrian was killed Monday evening in a collision involving a sport utility vehicle on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga, authorities confirmed.

The deadly incident took place at the intersection of W. Foothill Boulevard and Lion Street around 6:13 p.m. on Monday, January 5.

Preliminary information from investigators indicates that the adult male victim, whose identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification, was crossing Foothill Boulevard on foot when a 17-year-old male driver operating a Dodge Durango SUV struck him while traveling through the intersection.

The pedestrian, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding paramedics.

The teen driver, identified as a resident of Ontario, remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. No arrests have been announced in connection with the crash.
