Porterville, CA. – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian near an intersection in Porterville on Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at around 6 p.m. December 4, 2025, on Highway 190 and Westwood Street.
According to the CHP, a 78-year-old man was walking east across Westwood Street when he entered the path of a 2008 Toyota driven by a 38-year-old woman. The Toyota struck the man in the roadway.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity was not immediately released
The two occupants of the vehicle were not hurt in the accident.
