National City, CA.- A police officer was injured in a car accident that took place in National City early Thursday morning, according to the National City Police Department.
The incident took place in the 300 block of National City Boulevard at about 5 a.m.

Authorities reported that the officer sustained minor injuries.
Roads were shut down in the area as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The San Diego Gas & Electric responded to the scene and performed repairs on the destroyed electrical box.
