Pichaco Peak, AZ – One person was killed and multiple others injured in a crash involving a bus in Pichaco Peak on Thursday evening.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident took place just after 4:30 p.m. June 25, on Interstate 10 near Pichaco Peak Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a sedan and a shuttle bus were involved in the crash on the eastbound side of I-10. The collision occurred near the site of an earlier crash involving three vehicles and another between a box truck and a sedan.
The driver of the sedan that collided with the bus was killed in the accident. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
The three occupants of the bus were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The parties involved in the earlier collision were uninjured.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced a closure of the eastbound lanes of I-10 as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation into the deadly crash is still ongoing and more details are expected to be released.
