Phoenix, AZ – A pedestrian was hit and killed by two vehicles on Interstate 10 in West Phoenix early Thursday morning, according to a report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The incident was reported at around 4:30 a.m. July 9, near 67th Avenue.

According to the investigators, a man was in the westbound lanes of I-10 when he was hit by two vehicles. Authorities are still trying to figure out why the victim was in the roadway.

The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s name was not immediately released.

The involved drivers stayed at the scene and were cooperative with law enforcement.

At least two westbound lanes of I-10 were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
