The Phoenix Police Department identified the victim as 68-year-old Marshall Craig Davis.
The deadly collision happened at about 11 a.m. on July 5 in the area of Buckeye Road and 71st Avenue.
Investors said Davis drifted into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The second semi-truck was forced out of the roadway by a crash.
