Phoenix, AZ – A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
At around 1:40 p.m. March 6, authorities responded to reports of a collision on Third Avenue and Indian School Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that Selene Alexandra Garcia Telix, 18, was driving at a high rate of speed when she failed to stop for a red light and collided with a second vehicle. The second vehicle was being driven by John Stephen Conway, 75.
Police and firefighters responded to the incident and located the two vehicles and the involved drivers.
Conway was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Telix was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
