Phoenix, AZ – Authorities were called to the scene of a deadly crash that occurred early Thursday morning in west Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident was reported at around 3 a.m. in the area of 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that a white sedan collided with a semi-truck near the intersection. The sedan reportedly became pinned beneath the rear wheels of the big rig.

Police reported that the sedan driver was killed in the collision.

The operator of the big rig was uninjured and stayed at the scene. The identities of the involved parties were not immediately available.
