Phoenix, AZ – A woman is dead and two other people are hospitalized after a collision involving a suspected DUI motorist in Phoenix on Thursday night.

According to a report by the Phoenix Police Department, the wreck happened near 59th Avenue and McDowell Road shortly before 11 p.m. on June 18.

Investigations revealed that a black pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a white sedan at the intersection. The force of the collision pushed the sedan into a business while the truck slammed into a light pole.

The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital, where she was later declared deceased. The driver has been identified as Cecilia Cisneros Cuadros, 21.

A passenger in the sedan, only identified as a 20-year-old, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 21-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Phoenix police, the truck driver showed signs of impairment. He was expected to be booked on DUI charges once he was discharged from the hospital.

The accident remains under investigation and more details are expected to  be released.
