Preliminary reports indicate that a man was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle near the intersection. The involved driver reportedly fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Police and emergency crews immediately responded to the scene and located the bicyclist, who was in critical condition.
After evaluation, the victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was later declared deceased. His name was not immediately released by the authorities.
Police later located a suspect linked to the accident and arrested them. The suspect’s identity was also not made public.
The crash led to a temporary closure of the Cave Creek and Greenway roads intersection as authorities investigated the incident. The cause of the deadly crash remained under investigation.
