Phoenix, AZ – Authorities Identify Man Who Died 1 Week after Pedestrian Crash at Seventh Ave and Baseline Rd

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on August 12, 2026, near Seventh Avenue and Baseline Road.

Phoenix, AZ – 38-year-old Peter Griffin died after he was struck by a vehicle last week near an intersection in south Phoenix, authorities reported.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on August 12, 2026, near Seventh Avenue and Baseline Road.

Police said Griffin was crossing Baseline Road mid-block outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a car.

Police officers, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene and found Griffin suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died a week later.

The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene after the accident.

Investigators do not believe drugs and alcohol were contributing factors.
