Phoenix police said the man was crossing northbound on 27th Avenue mid-block and outside a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck.
Phoenix, AZ – A 59-year-old man died after he was struck by a pickup truck late Wednesday night near an intersection in Phoenix, authorities reported.
The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on May 27 near 27th Avenue and Ocotillo Road.
Phoenix police said the man was crossing northbound on 27th Avenue mid-block and outside a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene. Speed and impairment did not appear to be contributing factors on the part of the motorist.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the cause of the crash.
