Phoenix, AZ – Several people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Phoenix on Friday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
At around 7:50 p.m. January 16, authorities responded to reports of a crash near 19th and Southern avenues.
Authorities reported that a pickup truck and a passenger car were involved in the wreck. Details on what led up to the collision were not immediately available.
The Phoenix Police Department and Phoenix Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene and they attended to multiple parties involved in the accident.
A man riding as a passenger in the truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two adult passengers in the car were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Two children in the car were transported with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Phoenix police reported that impairement was suspected to have been a factor in the collision and one of the drivers was detained at the scene.
The names of those involved in the wreck were not immediately released. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Phoenix Police Department.
