San Diego County, CA. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning on a highway in the Pala community of San Diego County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident took place around 1:58 a.m. on Highway 76 at Lilac Extension Road, near the Pala Casino Spa Resort.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was reportedly walking in the middle of the road when they were hit by a Nissan Versa.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver involved pulled to the right shoulder after the crash.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
