According to CHP, a pedestrian attempted to cross the road when they were hit by an Acura heading eastbound.

Woodland, CA. – A pedestrian died Monday evening after being struck in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred around 8 p.m. west of County Road 98.

The impact pushed the Acura into the westbound lane, where it collided with a Nissan.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The Yolo County Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity when they notify the next of kin.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries. It was unclear if they were hospitalized.
At the time of the report, investigators had not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
The collision remains under investigation by the CHP Woodland Office.
